Foothills Riding Club

About Us

Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mtns., the Foothills Riding Club is organized for the purpose of promoting understanding and enjoyment of equestrian activities, particularly dressage and combined training, through sponsorship of educational and recreational activities such as presentations, clinics, schooling shows, and other mounted programs.

To further these goals, the FRC provides the following to the equestrian community:
 -  Monthly meetings spring and fall with informative and entertaining guest lecturers on topics such as innovations in equine veterinary treatment, farm maintenance,  safety equipment, competitions, etc.
 -  Monthly newsletter
 -  Web site containing informative articles, news, calendar of area horse activities
 -  Two Schooling Horse Trials
 -  Dressage Schooling Show Series
 -  Occasional clinic: most recently Ride-A-Test with Jodi Lees

Proceeds from these activities are donated to local area organizations such as Foothills Humane Society, Thermal Belt Outreach, PEER, TROT, Red Cross, Polk County Rescue, and others.

Membership year begins January 1 and goes through the calendar year. For more detailed information click here to download a membership form.
